Uncategorized We were thrilled to host the Canton FFA chapter at our hardwood sawmill recently! by wp_admin Apr 15, 2026 0 Comment It was a pleasure to have four dedicated students and their instructor, Tom Hojnowski, join us for an in-depth, hands-on look at our operations. Led by our Operations Manager, Mike Heilbrun, the group followed the entire journey of our lumber—starting with the log yard and debarker, moving through the head saw, and watching as we sharpened our own blades. The highlight of the tour was definitely the visit to our dry kilns. The students got a firsthand look (and feel!) of the heat and humidity required to properly dry our lumber. They emerged from the kilns with fogged-up glasses and wide smiles, genuinely surprised by just how much power goes into pulling the moisture out of the wood! A huge thank you to Tom for bringing the group out and for everything he does to go above and beyond for his students. We truly enjoyed sharing our passion for the industry with such an engaged group of young professionals.
