LUMBER HANDLER

Are you looking for a solid job with great benefits and a team that takes pride in quality craftsmanship? Cummings Lumber Company is hiring full-time Lumber Handlers at our Lumber Mill.

What You’ll Do:

  • Efficiently sort, straighten, and stack lumber according to lengths
  • Monitor boards for quality and thickness
  • Set up carts and crates for appropriate sorts
  • Preventative maintenance and housekeeping

  • Regular work hours for dependable scheduling (currently Monday – Friday 6:30am – 4:00pm)

Current Job Opening at Cummings Lumber Company:

LUMBER GRADER

We’re looking for a Lumber Grader to join our Mill team. If you have sharp eyes, a steady pace and take pride in doing quality work, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:
• Inspect and grade lumber to our quality standards and cutting orders
• Mark boards for trimming, ripping, re-edging, or routing to get the best grade and product value
• Identify and report thickness variations, mis-cuts, saw marks, and other defects
• Keep your work area clean, organized and safe
• Help train newer team members as you grow in the role
• Assist with housekeeping and preventative maintenance during downtime

What We’re Looking For:
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Good eyesight and solid hand-eye coordination
• Sound judgement and decision-making in a fast-paced setting
• Comfort working independently and as part of a small team
• Physical stamina for standing, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 100lbs throughout the shift
• Willingness to wear required PPE (safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection)
• Previous sawmill, lumber, woodworking, or manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

Current Job Opening at Barefoot Pellet Company:

DRYER OPERATOR – Full Time | Mon-Fri, 7am-5pm 

Barefoot Pellet Company is looking for a Dryer Operator to oversee and control the drying process of our premium wood pellets. You’ll help manage the system that turns our raw material into the high-quality pellets our customers count on!

What You’ll Do:

  • Run and monitor the dryer system, adjusting temperature, airflow, and material flow to hit moisture and quality targets,
  • Troubleshoot issues with the dryer and related equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance to keep the system running smoothly and prevent breakdowns
  • Track production data, quality checks, and maintenance activities
  • Communicate with the rest of the production team on status, issues and adjustments
  • Keep your work area clean and organized and assist with other pellet operations as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to consistent quality
  • Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors
  • Physical stamina for standing, lifting up to 60lbs, and working in an industrial setting
  • A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow OSHA and company safety procedures
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of production experience in an industrial setting preferred
