What You’ll Do:
• Efficiently sort, straighten, and stack lumber according to lengths
• Monitor boards for quality and thickness
• Set up carts and crates for appropriate sorts
• Preventative maintenance and housekeeping

• Regular work hours for dependable scheduling (currently Monday – Friday 6:30am – 4:00pm)

Our dedicated team is what makes Cummings Lumber special, and we’re especially proud of our drivers who go the extra mile every day. Recently, we had the pleasure of delivering a load of CLC 5 Star Hard Maple Lumber to Quanex in Greenville, PA.

The Pennsylvania FFA State Officer Team got a firsthand look at the hardwood industry on September 4, 2025, during a tour of Cummings Lumber Company. The visit, hosted by the Hardwood Development Council, focused on educating the officers about the opportunities, challenges, and overall impact of this vital industry.

The tour provided a comprehensive view of the lumber process, starting in the log yard where the officers saw how raw logs are transformed into finished lumber packs and prepared for transport. This experience highlighted the importance of sustainable forestry practices, a key focus of the Hardwood Development Council.

A big thank you to the Pennsylvania FFA Foundation, the FFA State Officer Team, the Hardwood Development Council, Darrel Showers, Mike Brammer and Rachel Newberry for making this valuable learning opportunity possible.
